Launched by Linda was founded in 2011 by Linda Evans
To inspire and empower others to discover and fulfill their potential and add greater meaning to their lives by advancing their education and careers.
To provide affordable and efficient career services for clients, especially career changers.
I started Launched by Linda in August 2011 when I graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) and was still unclear about where to go in my career. All I knew was I wanted to help college students reach their goals and fulfill their potential. So I began editing my friends' resumes, graduate school admission essays, and scholarship applications. Over the next 5 years, I held a lot of jobs, moved across the country, and tried 3 master's degree programs before graduating with my Master of Arts degree in Psychological Counseling from Columbia University in New York City. Shortly thereafter, I accepted my first full-time job as a Career Counselor.
I moved back to Utah in 2016 and tried working as an Academic Advisor for a year before returning to Career Services, where I currently work as a full-time Career Director for 2800 Humanities & Social Sciences students at BYU. In 2018, I began teaching college-level career development courses (Career Exploration and Career Strategies) and earned my Diploma in Coaching from New York University.
In addition to working with clients and students, I have been involved in the various stages of the world of work throughout my many professional roles including writing job descriptions, interviewing candidates, and hiring/training/supervising employees. I continually seek to improve my skills and knowledge through professional development and active membership in the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
I have training and experience in counseling, coaching, and advising, which I’ve incorporated into my unique Launched by Linda Model (see Services).
I specialize in helping individuals who feel lost in choosing a career path as well as career changers who feel stuck in an unfulfilling job. I strive to address clients' personal strengths, values, and interests to create deeper meaning and purpose in life. Mine is a holistic approach to career development, taking into account each client's cultural, socio-economic, and educational backgrounds.
I truly believe in the unique potential of each of us, which is reflected in my highly individualized style. I have a hands-on and pragmatic approach in guiding clients through setting goals, making decisions, and planning next steps. I have a strong aesthetic sense and attention-to-detail when editing all documents, with a determination to help clients brand themselves in the most professional, concise, clear, and impactful way possible.
I also believe self-awareness and emotional honesty are central to creating full meaningful lives, so I prompt clients to explore their motives, inhibitions, and mental blocks while considering multicultural and family factors as needed.
